Question - I need extra help.  When and how can I get that?

​Answer - Teacher access time is between 7:45 and 8:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  After school tutoring is also available from 3:45 to 5:15 on Monday and Thursday afternoons in room D204

with Mrs. Nichols.  

 

Question - Is extra credit available? 

Answer - In short, no.  Opportunities to show your understanding of a given topic will be

numerous. Every so often, there will be "an extra chance" to show what you have learned

through an article review, written response, interpretive assignment, etc.  Please do now wait

until the end of the semester to complete one of these "extras".  

 

Question - When can we meet to discuss the work I will miss for planned absence (ex: a ski race)? 

Answer - Before or after school.  If you can find me, during lunch.  

 

Question - I was absent.   What did I miss?  

Answer - There is NO substitute for being in class.  Please understand that your presence is

strongly suggested.  If you must miss, YOU will be responsible for completing all classwork and homework.  This may require you to come in before or after school or attending tutoring.  All missed work will be recorded as such in PowerSchool and entered as a ZERO until it is turned in.  

 

Question - A course listed on the website is not being offered.  Why not?

Answer - My schedule changes every semester.  If a course is not currently being offered by me this semester, chances are it will be at a later date.  

 

Question - What do “C, X, and E” stand for on assignments? 

Answer - To better differentiate assignments, material is broken down into three categories.  C connects to core content material that corresponds to district skills and state standards.  X relates to the investigation of the material’s specific context.  E stands for enrichment.  This allows students to view material from a different angle, give personal examples, compare and contrast, and show a heightened understanding of content.
